How user-centered design made Skyworker a success

When we at Aboveit developed Skyworker, we wanted to create a user-friendly solution that simplifies workflows for companies working with field deliveries.
Today, Skyworker is an all-in-one platform covering everything from sales and project management to resource allocation, quotes with digital signatures, checklists, and time tracking. From the very beginning, we focused on user needs. How did we do it?
- Through interviews with over 300 companies
- Analysis of business processes
- Mapping specific needs
This gave us a solid foundation for further development and insight into common needs for companies working with sales and field deliveries. We also learned that an incredible number of businesses, especially in the SMB market (small and medium-sized businesses), use several different systems for various purposes. For example, the same company used one solution for sales, a system for projects, an app for work orders, a separate system for time tracking, a separate system for documentation, and a system for deviation management. Using many different systems is both costly and inefficient, in addition to being less user-friendly for employees.
Thus, we developed Skyworker to be a product that addresses multiple needs within the same solution. Not only does this save a company costs, but it also streamlines daily work by being tailored to users.
This user-focused approach has not only saved us development costs but has also made Skyworker a tool that truly meets market demands and is effectively used by customers from day one.

User Insight: A Profitable Investment in Product Development
By investing time early in understanding users, we reduced the total development costs for the product. Changes made during the design phase require significantly fewer resources than adjustments made when the product is already in development or production.
We created user profiles representing typical roles within various industries, such as project managers, field workers, and team leaders. By maintaining a clear focus on what matters most to users, we avoided both unnecessary development and unnecessary costs.

Skyworker: Tailored to User Needs
Skyworker is specifically designed to meet users' needs for efficient and seamless workflows. Through a user-focused design process, we have created a product that streamlines the business process from sales to delivery, reduces administrative work, and provides an easy overview of resource allocation, tasks, and deadlines.
Do you have an idea for a new app or system and are curious about how we at Aboveit approach product development? Or would you like to see how Skyworker can simplify your business process and help your company gain better control over sales, project management, resource allocation, and time tracking?
