A New Modern Standard

Sykehuspartner HF provides services in ICT, project management, logistics, and HR to all health trusts in Helse Sør-Øst. Sykehuspartner is owned by the regional health trust Helse Sør-Øst (HSØ RHF). Their main task is to operate and manage critical ICT systems for hospitals, which includes both clinical and administrative applications, ICT infrastructure, networks, and workspaces. Their services reach approximately 80,000 users and play a crucial role in maintaining operations and functionality in the daily activities of the health trusts.

A Comprehensive Modernization Program

Helse Sør-Øst is in the process of implementing a comprehensive standardization and infrastructure modernization program. The Windows 10 projects were carried out due to the end-of-life support for the Windows 7 platform. They represented a significant step in Sykehuspartner and Helse Sør-Øst's strategy to modernize, secure, and standardize their ICT services. During their implementation period, the projects upgraded nearly 70,000 clients, facilitated and verified around 3,500 unique services, and introduced dynamic workspaces across all health trusts.

Process

Ensuring High Quality

Aboveit has provided expertise and consultants in project management, test management, and architecture, in both Phase 1 and Phase 2. A total of 14 consultants from Aboveit contributed to the Windows 10 project and its deliverables. We have filled roles such as Deputy Project Manager, Sub-project Manager, PMO Lead, Test Manager, several Test Coordinators, and Defect Manager. To create the best solutions and ensure quality in implementation at the health trusts, close contact and good dialogue with all stakeholders – including professional communities, administration, and users at the health trusts, as well as internally at Sykehuspartner – have been crucial.

Solution

Efficient and Secure Solution

Aboveit, together with Sykehuspartner, has delivered a standardized, modernized, and secure Windows 10 client platform to Helse Sør-Øst. This new client platform facilitates efficient services, digitalization at the health trusts, and simpler operations for Sykehuspartner.

Through its mapping and dialogue, the project has also contributed to the cleanup and decommissioning of old applications for increased standardization.

The project utilized a hybrid delivery model, combining the use of the project guide with agile methodologies during the implementation phase.
