Norwegian Health Network SF (NHN) is a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Health and Care Services. They provide national ICT infrastructure for collaboration within the health and care sector. NHN simplifies and streamlines electronic services for patients and the general public. Their customers include public and private healthcare services, doctor's offices, dentists, municipalities, pharmacies, laboratories, and physiotherapists.

Sky is not the limit
NHN and the APT division are focusing on modernization through their 2026 strategy, including the establishment of a private cloud. This will increase flexibility and efficiency in NHN's data centers and support modern applications. A private cloud is an alternative to public cloud services, offering better control over infrastructure and delivery models.
NHN delivers critical services to the healthcare sector and must ensure availability regardless of the internet and international cloud providers. Establishing a private cloud is necessary to achieve this, as exemplified by the national emergency medical communication (AMK) service in NHN's data centers.

Process
Coordination - implementation - innovation
We have served as architects/solution architects throughout the entire project establishment process. Our responsibilities have included developing platform design and coordinating technical implementation.
Following the project's production launch, we have continued in our roles as architects and team leaders, focusing on the platform's further development and innovation. Specifically, we have worked on implementing microservices and Cloud Native solutions, and introduced modern methodologies such as DevOps, GitOps, and the use of Cloud Native services. We have also prioritized the automation of virtual machine creation and self-service for users.
